SHARE’s 2015 Earth Day Essay Competition
We are proud to announce our first annual SHARE Essay Competition, in which nine promising junior and senior high school students will win a total of $5,000!
One of our chief missions at SHARE is to advance the dialogue about clean, affordable, and safe energy options available to all New York residents, focusing specifically on the value nuclear energy provides to our economy and the environment. As such, our entrants are being asked to put forth, in the format of an essay, prose, or dialogue, an answer the question “What is the role of nuclear energy in a sustainable society?”
We will be accepting entries from early December 2015 through March 2016, with the culminating award ceremony being held on April.
Our decorated panel of essay judges include Walter Mosley, NYS Assembly Member, and Robert Cornegy, NYC City Council Member, as well as distinguished educators like Jerib Carson, Oma Holloway, and Reverend Keisha Agard.
