SHARE Supports the American Association of Blacks in Energy
On August 4th 2017, at the historic Brickshire Golf Club in Providence Forge, Virginia, SHARE joined with African American energy professionals from across the country to support the Virginia Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE).
AABE’s mission is to provide energy professionals a pathway to learn and grow within the energy industry through forming professional and leadership development opportunities and to serve as a resource for policy discussions in the energy industry. The members of AABE support SHARE’s mission to provide communities of color with much needed information concerning the planned closure of Indian Point and expressed particular concern about the impacts replacement power plants will have on air quality.
Funds raised by AABE this year will benefit the Chapter’s scholarship activities throughout the school year. The chapter’s students are learning about the importance of legislative issues, public policy, and leadership development.
